Rove is soon launching Mobile Admin 7.0

The new features in 7.0 include:

•   Microsoft ActiveSync

o    Wipe, delete partnerships and troubleshoot AS devices

•   Amazon EC2

o    One-click SSH into instances

o    Start/stop/reboot instances

o    Notfications for scheduled events and CloudWatch alarms  

•   SolarWinds NPM

o    View details for nodes, interfaces and events

o    Top 10 lists

o    Acknowledge events

o    Unmanage nodes

•   iLO 2 and 3

o    Power cycle server

o    View server logs

o    Flash UID to help locate server in datacenter 

•   Notifications for locked Active Directory user accounts

o    Once-click from notification to user account in AD  

Usability improvements in 7.0 include:

•   Improved Notification system

o    New top-level view showing number and severity of events for each subscribed feed 

o    Better badge number support

o    Notification payload indicates which feed triggered notification 

•   Share Mobile Admin

o    Share the details of any page in Mobile Admin with team members directly from device

o    Submit feedback or bugs to Rove directly from device

•   Better device integration

o    Caching Active Directory login on devices is back as a server-side configuration     option (tentative)

o    Better data compression (tentative)

o    Create a calendar entry on your device from any date field 

o    Place a  phone call from your device from any phone number field

o    Open the browser on your device from any URL field

o    Send an email form your device from any email field

Some honest feedback for Rove Mobile Admin for the iPhone

Under the title of "Expensive, but Useful" reviewer "Aurock" writes this:

This app requires a licensed install of mobile admin server, which costs something like $1000 per user. Still, for a network admin, it can be a huge time saver. With this tool, I can manage all of our servers from anywhere I have wifi or cellular service. All the way from unlocking users or disconnecting rdp sessions to remote controlling, getting a command prompt, or restarting servers.

There are a few glitches in this iPhone client still to be worked out, but rove support has been very helpful in troubleshooting issues as needed.

We love the honesty here but just one quick clarification: Rove Mobile Admin is $595/user, not $1000 :)

This is from a Canadian Mobile Admin user -- can't get any clearer than this:

Not just a cliche when I say that this is a MUST have for any IT support person!

I've been using this on a BB for over a year. Glad to see I can move to an iPhone and not lose this app. I can address IT issues quicker from my phone than from my computer remote with this app. Literally puts the network, all yours servers, and workstations in your hand. Try it and I can almost guarantee you will buy it.
